To provide a unique resource for journalists that sparks their interest in covering complex public health issues and gives them the tools they need to do so.

Vanguard Responds:
The content Vanguard provided for an online media resource center for the Trust for America’s Health was built around the synergies possible between journalism and public health – both information-based disciplines that employ investigative techniques. The site boasts the Internet’s only comprehensive collection of all online public health databases. This data offers journalists a treasure trove of opportunities and ideas for public health stories specifically about their own communities. Additional pages offer story ideas and resources for reporting on the issues of greatest concern to the public health community today, such as bioterrorism, natural disasters and epidemics, as well as a “calendar” of story ideas pegged to seasons, holidays, anniversary dates and special events.
