Jane Tobler has been at Vanguard for almost a decade and is the Associate Director of External Relations. She is responsible for developing strategic partnerships with individuals and organizations. She also directs all of Vanguard’s communication training and technical assistance activities.

My advice for future communicators for social change is … get out from behind your computer! Go see the world and talk to people — even if it’s just down the hall or at a local meeting. Establish eye contact, form relationships and find a mentor.
If I didn’t work in public relations I would … launch a foundation that works with young people around donating their time and money to organizations that create social good.
I want to be remembered at Vanguard for … my kick-a– strategy and for proving that levity and efficiency are not mutually exclusive.
