Helping the District Go Green, in More Ways Than One
The DCSEU’s mission is to help District residents and businesses save energy and money through energy efficiency and renewable energy programs. Vanguard came on board to support a range of communications strategies, from rebranding and campaign planning to creative materials development and integrated media. A key strategy was the Cool Bulb, Hot Price campaign, which encouraged D.C. residents and businesses to switch from traditional incandescent light bulbs to compact fluorescent light bulbs to help them save energy and money. More than 35 retailers in the District enrolled in the program, and the campaign resulted in sales of more than 43,400 efficient light bulbs in that year.
