We created our 5-1-1 Awards (5 core values, 1 mission, 1 team) — to recognize when staff members embody our corporate culture through our core values in the work they do. In addition to a small monetary prize, staff get recognition at the monthly staff meeting.

Professional Development

We are all looking to grow in new directions and enhance our impact as professional communicators. That’s why we regularly invite speakers to conduct internal trainings for our staff that supplement our knowledge and keep our skills sharp. We also encourage staff to attend industry trainings and pay for membership in professional organizations so they can learn and grow in their careers. Staff have leadership roles in many such organizations, including:

Financial Incentives

When profitability makes it possible, Vanguard “spreads the wealth” via our profit-sharing 401(k) plan. Though it can fluctuate, the goal is to contribute 5% of an employee’s salary each year, regardless of what the staff member contributes themselves. We also offer bonuses when staff help us bring in new business or recruit new team members.
