The Telly Awards — Silver in Instructional, Social Video: American Diabetes Association: Physical Activity 101 Video
Vanguard developed a series of bilingual physical activity videos designed to promote movement and healthier lifestyle choices among people with or at risk for diabetes. The videos—covering warm-ups, lower body, upper body, and core exercises—were supported by culturally inclusive scripts and visuals.

The National Medal for Museum and Library Service is the nation’s highest honor for institutions that make significant and exceptional contributions to their communities. Vanguard conducted interviews with recipients to share each of their unique programs and stories.
GDUSA American Graphic Design Awards — Designing For Good—AmeriHealth Caritas District of Columbia: Postpartum Passport: A Guide for a Healthy You After Birth
This booklet serves as a comprehensive and compassionate resource for new parents. With a strong emphasis on maternal health equity, mental wellness and advocacy, the booklet empowers parents — especially Black mothers who face disproportionate health risks — to prioritize their well-being and seek timely support. It also connects users to programs like Bright Start, mental health coaching and safe sleep education, reinforcing that their health and voice matter every step of the way.
National Association of Government Communicators Blue Pencil/Gold Screen Awards — Second Place, Written: Single Piece—Drug Enforcement Administration and Department of Education: Growing Up Drug Free: A Parent’s Guide to Substance Use Prevention
This resource is aimed at helping parents prevent youth substance use through accessible, research-based guidance. Vanguard’s team—recognized for its award-winning 2021 redesign of the guide—provided writing, editing, design, and layout in two languages, as well as 508 compliance.
Digital Health Media Awards — Silver in Media/Publications: Video —SAMHSA — College Drinking: Prevention Perspectives–Embracing Culture and Context to Prevent Underage Drinking
Developed as part of a series for SAMHSA’s UADPEI, this video illustrates how HBCUs can create prevention strategies to meet the unique needs of those students. We developed scripts and storyboards, shot footage on site, and interviewed community members who are making an impact through their prevention work.

Maria was honored by Washington Business Journal’s 2024 Women Who Mean Business program for her commitment to empowering youth via her service on various Boards of Directors and supporting a paid internship program for first-generation Latinx students at The George Washington University.
